Overview of the Role
As a member of our HR team, the Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist will report directly to the Vice President, Human Resources and will be responsible for helping us continue to grow by attracting great people to join our team. The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist will lead the full cycle recruitment process, including direct sourcing top talent, on-boarding new hires, and building out our brand as an employer of choice. The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist is a creative problem solver with exceptional communication skills, who sees the big picture and enjoys rolling up their sleeves to get the job done.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Designs and implements a full cycle recruitment and selection process that delivers a world class candidate experience
- Builds and executes sourcing strategies to identify diverse pools of talent for current and future needs
- Develops interview guides designed to assess candidate competencies and alignment with Recollective values
- Trains hiring managers on recruitment best practices, including interview techniques, unconscious bias, etc.
- Leverages technology to improve the effectiveness of the recruitment and selection process, including conducting pre-screen interviews, scheduling interviews, and communications with candidates and hiring managers
- Develops policy and process for conducting proper due diligence during the hiring process, including professional reference checks, education verification, criminal record and credit checks as required
- Uses various methods, including social media platforms, networking events and job fairs, to promote Recollective as an employer of choice and to build a pipeline of potential candidates
- Helps to forecast quarterly and annual hiring needs by department
- Helps to determine fair compensation packages that are externally competitive and internally equitable
- Conducts verbal offer conversations and prepares written employment agreements
Competency Profile
The ideal candidate will be a strong team player and an effective communicator with experience working as a recruiter in a high tech / software culture. They will have exceptionally strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate an ability to build relationships both internally and externally.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have knowledge of modern, best practices for sourcing, assessing fit, and on-boarding the right people. They will be results oriented and fit into a high-performance culture.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience recruiting in a high volume environment
- Experience with proactive, direct sourcing (datamining) for passive job seekers through internet research, search engine, social networks, etc.
- Experience in a high-tech / software environment is considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with others.
- Organized and reliable, with experience managing and prioritizing multiple searches, projects and relationships.
- Knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter, GSuite and general computer software; familiarity with BambooHR an asset.
Location
This position is open to candidates in all remote locations. The HR team will be located at our beautiful new headquarters in downtown Ottawa (World Exchange Plaza, 100 Queen St). Preference will be given to candidates in Ottawa and to those in time zones that are conducive to collaboration with the core team.
